Terms of Service

1. About the Service

District Contracts (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a subscription service that searches publicly available UK council planning portal data and delivers filtered, trade-matched notifications to registered tradespeople. The service is operated by District Contracts Ltd.

2. Free Trial

New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No payment information is required to start a trial. At the end of the trial period your account will be downgraded and data access will cease unless you subscribe. We will send you a reminder email before your trial ends.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

We offer two subscription plans, billed monthly:

• Core — £39 + VAT per month.
• Pro — £79 + VAT per month.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. You may cancel at any time via the billing portal in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Annual billing options may be available at a discount.

4. Plan Features and Limits

Feature availability varies by plan. Core subscribers may access jobs within a 25-mile radius; Pro subscribers may access up to a 50-mile radius. Instant email alerts are available on the Pro plan only. We reserve the right to adjust plan features with 14 days' notice to subscribers.

5. Data Accuracy and AI-Generated Content

Planning application data is sourced from public UK council portals. We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee completeness or timeliness of data obtained from third-party sources.

Important: The plain-English summaries, trade relevance bullets, scope estimates, and timing recommendations displayed on our platform are generated automatically by our rule-based enrichment system. They are interpretive aids only — not official council interpretations. They may contain errors, omissions, or mis-classifications. You must always verify application details directly with the relevant local authority before acting on any information, making contact with an applicant, or committing business resources.

District Contracts Ltd accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on automated summaries or trade-relevance assessments.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Resell, redistribute, or sublicense any data provided through the service.
• Use automated tools to mass-export or harvest data from our platform.
• Use the service to contact applicants in a harassing or unsolicited manner.
• Misrepresent yourself or your business when registering.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate our enrichment methodology.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.

7. Data Sources and Open Government Licence

Planning application data originates from UK local authorities and is subject to Crown Copyright and the Open Government Licence v3.0. Our platform code, brand, enrichment engine, and templates are the intellectual property of District Contracts Ltd.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Our use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, District Contracts Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to: loss of business, loss of profit, or loss arising from acting on inaccurate or incomplete planning data.

Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
