How it works
From public record
to morning shortlist
We turn the UK's public planning record into a morning shortlist of jobs that are actually relevant to your trade — no jargon, no noise.
We search every council
Each night we check UK Local Planning Authority portals (Idox Public Access, Northgate, and more) for newly published applications. This is public-record data that councils are legally required to publish.
We translate the jargon
Planning descriptions are written for planners, not tradespeople. We rewrite "erection of single storey rear extension with alterations to fenestration and 4no. rooflights" into plain English, then pull out exactly what each trade needs to know.
We match it to you
Every application is scored against your trade and your patch. A roofer and a glazier see the same job through completely different lenses — only the parts relevant to them.
We tell you when to act
Approved means work is starting soon — contact now. Awaiting decision means plant a seed. We flag the timing so you make the right call at the right moment.
From jargon to job
Council wording
“Erection of single storey rear extension following demolition of existing conservatory, alterations to fenestration, and installation of 4no. rooflights.”
What a roofer sees
Rear extension Approved
- Rooflights / skylights to fit
- New roof on the extension
- Glazed-roof / conservatory roof
Questions
Where does the planning data come from?
Directly from local authority planning portals. Under the Town and Country Planning Acts, councils must make planning applications publicly available. We aggregate what is already public and present it more usefully.
Is this legal?
Yes. We only use data that councils publish for public inspection, and we link back to the official council page for every application so you can verify the source.
How fresh is the data?
We search overnight and send your digest at 7am, so you see applications the morning after they are published — typically days or weeks before the work actually starts.
Which councils are covered?
We are continuously expanding coverage across England and Wales, prioritising the highest-population authorities first. If your area is not yet live, let us know and we will prioritise it.
Will I get the homeowner's details?
Applications show the site address and, where published, the applicant and agent. The agent or architect is often your best first contact — they specify which trades are used.
